The Municipality of Shawville is located in Western Quebec, Canada located within the MRC of Pontiac. Shawville is surrounded by the Municipality of Clarendon. The population according to the 2006 census was 1587 residents with approximately 727 dwellings within the town.

The constitution was signed on January 1, 1874

Boil water advisory for the Municipality of Shawville
Effective immediately all potable water is to be boiled for at least one (1) minute before consumption. The boiling water advisory is in effect from August 21, 2015 until further notice.
