Parks

Located within the Municipality of Shawville you will find the following parks:

Mill Dam Park

The park is located on Clarendon St., it provides camping services free of charge for visitors to Shawville from May until October excluding Shawville Fair weekend and also with the weather permitting. Camping sites have access to electrical plug ins and water with a pumping station on site.

Located in the park are beautiful gardens and a children’s play structure, and an outdoor pavilion for your enjoyment and a creek that runs through the park. 

During the Quebec free fishing weekend the Municipality of Shawville hosts a Fishing Derby where the creeks are stocked with trout and children 18 and under can come and experience fishing first hand.

Veterans Memorial Park

The Veterans Memorial Park is located at Main and Clarendon Street. The park serves as a memorial to those that have fallen in battle, and to remember those that fight for our freedom each day.

Elwood Dale Baseball Park

The park is located at the end of Hillcrest Street, near the Pontiac High School, it is operated by the Shawville District Recreation Association.  They oversee the baseball park, R.A. Hall, and play structures for children to use.

Winter Parking Bylaws -
MUNICIPALITY OF SHAWVILLE
NOTICE PARKING IN WINTER
According to By-Law S.Q. No. 2011-001, the following
provisions apply to parking during the winter months:
Parking or stopping a vehicle a vehicle on a public road between
midnight and 6:00 a.m. from November 15th to April 15th is
prohibited on the whole territory of the municipality.
During or after a snowstorm, no vehicle shall be parked on any
street in a manner such as to hinder the plowing and removal of
snow.
The owner of any vehicle contravening the provisions of these By-
Laws shall be liable to a minimum fine of $30.00 and in addition
to having the vehicle towed away at the owner's expense.
